Information
Locket was created as a simple archive to display all of my designs used around the domain. I had dabbled in these sorts of archives in the past, and never managed to keep it up to date. A few years into the domain, I closed down the first layout archive because I couldn't keep up with it, and I didn't think it had a meaningful purpose. In 2007, I noticed a revival of these sorts of portfolio among the web, and decided to give it another try. This time around, I've decided to keep things as simple as possible, in hopes of not getting frustrated as I did in the past.
The name "Locket" was chosen as the archive's name after it was revived. I can't for the life of me remember what its original name was, but I suppose it doesn't matter. To me, "Locket" is the perfect name for an archive of my designs. A locket is usually shaped like a heart, and can be opened up to view images of people or things that are dear to you. Therefore, I thought the concept of a locket was perfect for this archive at Cleverheart.net.
I design all my layouts using the following:
I used to check my layouts in Internet Explorer -- however, I have since stopped this practice. I admit that I should check my layouts in many web browsers, but my bias for FireFox has overcome this obligation. I am thankful for people pointing out errors in my layouts when viewed in IE, and I fix them as soon as I can.
In the year 2008, I will be checking all my layouts in FireFox, Internet Explorer, and Safari before putting them online. I hope that this will make my layouts easier for more people to view correctly. I also hope to XHTML Verify each of my designs for the same purpose.
The following are my favorite places to gather resources:
